1. Purpose
This policy outlines SiDAX Limited's commitment to sourcing products and services ethically, in a manner that respects human rights, ensures fair labour practices and protects the environment throughout our supply chain.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners involved in the sourcing, manufacturing, and delivery of goods and services to SiDAX Limited.
3. Ethical Standards
We expect all suppliers to comply with the following principles, based on the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code:
- Freely Chosen Employment: No forced, bonded, or involuntary labour.
- Freedom of Association: Workers must be free to join trade unions and bargain collectively.
- Safe Working Conditions: A safe and hygienic working environment must be provided.
- No Child Labour: No person under the age of 16 (or higher if local law requires) shall be employed.
- Fair Wages: Wages must meet or exceed legal minimums and industry benchmarks.
- Reasonable Working Hours: Working hours must comply with national laws and not be excessive.
- No Discrimination: Employment decisions must be based on ability, not personal characteristics.
- Regular Employment: Work must be based on recognised employment relationships.
- No Harsh or Inhumane Treatment: Physical abuse, harassment, or intimidation is prohibited.
4. Environmental Responsibility
Suppliers must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
- Minimise waste, emissions, and resource consumption.
- Avoid the use of hazardous materials where possible.
- Monitor and report environmental impact if required.
5. Monitoring and Compliance
Suppliers must undergo ethical risk assessment and approval before onboarding. There is encouragement for all suppliers to become members of Sedex.
SiDAX Limited reserves the right to audit suppliers and conduct site visits.
Non-compliance may result in corrective action plans or termination of the business relationship, including legal action.
6. Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
In accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, SiDAX Limited is committed to ensuring transparency in our supply chain and will not tolerate any form of slavery or human trafficking.
7. Continuous Improvement
We aim to build long term trading relationships with suppliers who share our values and actively support them in improving their ethical and sustainability practices through collaboration.
8. Contact and Reporting
Suppliers and employees are encouraged to report any concerns related to unethical practices.
Employees can report, gain independent advice and support, using the internal Company's Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblowing) policy, or externally to the Modern Slavery Helpline:
